I wanted to do a post after every Pride event, but since this blog is just getting off the ground now I’ll have to speak generally about some of the amazing Pride events we’ve been to so far this summer.
How to describe them in one word? COMMUNITY!
Each event has been unique–with incredibly different energy and feel. But the one common thread from Erie to Philly is the overwhelming pride in our community that exists.
In Pittsburgh this past weekend they celebrated their very first-ever “Pride in the Streets.” The event itself was masterfully produced, perfectly planned, and incredibly well-received in the community. People of all sizes, genders, identities, and colors partied together through the night right in the streets- a real moment for our community to feel proud.
As I travel the Commonwealth and meet many of you, I continue to be amazed at the potential, compassion, and strength of our community. In the end, community is what this is all about.
